Oregon Zoo

I think I have made it a point to visit every Zoo there possible (if there is one in the area that we are traveling to). Unlike the Woodland Zoo in Seattle, the animals were out in the open and taking in the sunshine. Read more below to see photos of the animals I managed to snap a picture of at some of the exhibits!

The Oregon Zoo is much larger than The Woodland Zoo in Seattle, but I have to say it is a stroller-zone. While The Woodland Zoo had a dirt trail for you to follow (making it difficult for strollers), The Oregon Zoo has paved trails which meant that you had to be careful of where you put your foot lest you get it run over by an occupied stroller. I chose a weekend to go to the zoo, which is my fault as to why it was so packed. If you take the TriMet and show your ticket, you get a $1.50 discount off of your admissions ticket!

It took me a good hour to an hour and a half to walk through all the exhibits. I wish I was able to spend more time at each exhibit, but I knew that I could not ruin a child's day at the zoo with me taking multiple photos of every animal I saw. I was happy/satisfied enough when I managed to get one of a giraffe. The Oregon Zoo has plenty of picnic areas so you can definitely enjoy meals around the park as well as purchase meals throughout the zoo. I suggest going on a week day and early in the day around 10AM to avoid crowds as well as avoid closing exhibits for animal feedings. Despite the crowded exhibits, I still had an excellent time and recommend anyone who are into zoos to check this place out.
